Islip - Smithtown Branch
The Islip-Smithtown Branch of the NAACP is an official chartered unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Founded in 1958, the Islip-Smithtown Branch has a rich history of human and civil rights advocacy. Our leadership team is dedicated to welcoming all community members that support the advancement for all people, including people of color. We are steadfast in pursuing our organization's missio through our programming and advocacy.


Mission
The mission of the Islip-Smithtown Branch of the NAACP is to support the agendas of the New York Conference and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People while also planning and executing local agendas for the areas serviced by Islip-Smithtown Branch.
The NAACP supports six (6) game changers: Youth, Economic Sustainability, Public Safety & Criminal Justice, Voting & Political Representation, Health, and Education.

Vision
The Islip-Smithtown Branch of the NAACP envisions a thriving, empowered community where equity and justice are realized for all. Guided by the six game changers of the NAACP—Youth, Economic Sustainability, Public Safety & Criminal Justice, Voting Rights & Political Representation, Health, and Education—we strive to be a powerful force for transformative change. We aim to uplift the voices of our communities, foster leadership across generations, and build a future where every resident of Islip and Smithtown can live with dignity, opportunity, and freedom.
