President's Message

meyearbook.jpg

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we recognize the 55th anniversary of the passage of civil rights legislation in New York, we must also recognize that the time has come to upgrade the laws that protect against hate and discrimination in our daily lives.

Our grandmothers and grandfathers built the skeleton 50 and 60 years ago. And now it is up to us to finish what they started. It's time for us to upgrade Civil and Human Rights laws and policies. For this reason, the Islip Town Branch has passed a series of resolutions in the latter half of 2020 as we commission our Civil and Human Rights Upgrade Campaign, our CHRU Campaign. We encourage all not-for-profits, human rights, civil rights and progressive organizations to stand with Islip Town Branch as we embark to enact CHRU Change in Suffolk County and New York State.

"To whom much is given, much is expected."

God bless us all,
Bill Moss
